With about 106,000 Americans waiting for a life-saving transplant and 50+ SODA chapters across the country, students need more support to advocate for organ, eye, and tissue donation, which is why we’re excited to welcome Sophia Renner, Student Engagement Coordinator, to the SODA National Team!
As Student Engagement Coordinator, Sophia will be a mentor for new and existing student organ donation advocates and ensure they have the tools they need to save lives on campus. She’s primed to provide direct support to our students because she was an advocate herself in college as a Campus Ambassador for Gift of Life Marrow Registry.

Here are some other fun facts about Sophia:
She graduated from Tulane University this past May with a degree in Public Health.
In addition to being a Campus Ambassador, she served in leadership roles for Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women and Outreach Tulane on campus.
Community service is an important part of her life, too. She has been a Meals on Wheels volunteer since 2011! While in college, she was also a volunteer for Remote Learning Buddies and A’s and Aces.
When she’s not working, Sophia enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She loves to go on long drives, listen to audio books, and try new restaurants.
Sophia spent this past summer traveling through Europe and commemorating her graduation with friends from college. Her favorite part of their journey was reconnecting with her family’s roots in Italy.
