Hey, current and incoming college and graduate students, guess what? It’s our favorite time of year again! Applications for SODA’s advocacy scholarships are open now through June 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
“SODA’s 2026 scholarships are designed to celebrate the many ways students show up as advocates for organ, eye, and tissue donation,” Sophia Renner, SODA’s Engagement Director, shares. “Whether you’ve led events on campus, started conversations in your community, or supported donor registration efforts behind the scenes, these scholarships recognize the impact you’ve already made and the leadership you continue to build.”
HBCU Legacy Scholarship
We are awarding three $1,500 scholarships to a team of three students on the same campus. If you’re familiar with our scholarships from previous years, this might sound a little different to you.
… And it is!
Instead of awarding five $1,000 scholarships to students across different campuses, we want students to work together this year to ultimately establish a strong, long-lasting SODA chapter on their HBCU campus. That’s because we know the power of dedication and teamwork. And we’re confident your passion for organ, eye, and tissue donation and advocacy can leave a lasting impact on your campus.
Student Advocacy Scholarship
This one might sound familiar! We’re awarding five $1,000 scholarships in partnership with Second Chance Fundraising. If you’re passionate about organ, eye, and tissue donation and are committed to inspiring positive change in your community through peer-to-peer advocacy efforts and beyond, then this scholarship could be for you, so don’t miss out on your chance to apply.
Daniel Gives Back Scholarship
Celebrating its second year, this one $1,000 scholarship for a student who leads with heart and initiative is sponsored by Daniel Gives Back. Whether it’s a personal story, honoring a loved one, or pursuing outreach and advocacy in other ways, this opportunity is designed to support a student who hopes to grow as an organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy leader.
Eligibility
In addition to any scholarship-specific eligibility requirements, all Daniel Gives Back Scholarship and Student Advocacy Scholarship applicants must:
Be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the 2026-27 academic year.
Organize an organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy event by the end of the fall semester.
Attend a virtual networking session in August 2026 to connect with fellow scholarship recipients.
Attend a virtual awards ceremony in February of 2027 to celebrate their accomplishments and share the impact of their advocacy event.
Not have previously been awarded a SODA National scholarship.
We want to hear from you! Apply here by June 15 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
