Tawny Blum

In March 2023, Tawny joined the SODA team as our very first Supplies Volunteer after finding the opportunity on social media. At the time, our small, full-time team was struggling to keep up with preparing and shipping supply kits to our student chapters. We knew we needed help, and finding Tawny was a turning point for our organization.

Over the course of her volunteer service, Tawny sent 1,444 packages to students across the country, ensuring they had the resources they needed to educate their peers about organ, eye, and tissue donation. Her reliability, leadership, and dedication helped

make it possible for SODA to grow from 55 chapters when she joined to 164 chapters today. Her contributions

were instrumental in making that growth possible, and her impact will be felt for years to come.

We are deeply grateful that Tawny found SODA and chose to share her time and talents with us. In her honor, we have renamed our collection of student supplies Tawny’s Supply Closet, ensuring that her generosity continues to reach students and support the mission she cared so much about.







Gifts made in Tawny’s memory will help SODA empower more students with resources, like Tawny's Supply Closet. We are honored to carry her legacy forward and will always be grateful for the difference she made in our organization and in our lives.
