April is a special month for the donation community. It’s National Donate Life Month! This year’s theme uses trees as a symbol of life and connection. 🌲 Just like trees grow and support each other in a forest, donation connects people – donors, recipients, and their families. Like a tree that grows and stands for generations, a donor’s gift leaves a lasting legacy of hope and life. 🍃

​Below are some event ideas to help you celebrate National Donate Life Month. Don’t forget, SODA provides free supplies and funding for advocacy events.​

​

• National Donate Life Month Dice: Roll the dice, answer a question, and help our Donate Life tree grow stronger with every conversation. Each roll spreads awareness, plants a seed of knowledge, and reminds us that one decision can grow into a lifetime of impact. 🌱 Request Donate Life Dice and swag from the Chris Klug Foundation.​​

• Color and Connect: Host a meeting where students can personalize their own “Leave a Legacy” coloring sheet. Invite a local guest speaker or your OPO partner to present on donation and answer questions. 🎨

• Branches of Hope: Set up a simple paper tree backdrop where students pick a leaf prompt card, write a response, and add it to the tree. Prompts like “Who inspires you to make a difference?” or "What word represents hope to you?" spark reflection, and including your chapter’s personalized donor registration link makes it easy to take action. 🌿​
