We are so excited to be providing three scholarships this year to upcoming and current college students across the country who are passionate about organ donation advocacy!
Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for our scholarships you must:

Not have received a scholarship in 2022

Be enrolled in a college or university for the 2023-2024 school year.

Meet the scholarship program-specific requirements below.

Host a SODA-approved organ donation advocacy event by the end of the Fall 2023 semester. The event can be a registration drive, article discussion, guest speaker, or an original idea of yours that has been approved by SODA National. *

Attend a networking event in July 2023. *

Attend an awards ceremony in January 2024. *
* One half of the scholarship funds will be released by August. The second half of the funds will be released after the awards ceremony in January.
2023 Scholarship Offerings
HBCU Organ and Tissue Donation Advocacy Scholarship

We are awarding five $1000 scholarships to HBCU students who have an interest in organ donation advocacy.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for the 2023-2024 school year.
Student Advocacy Scholarship
Sponsored by Second Chance Fundraising
We are awarding five $1000 scholarships to college students who are organ and tissue donation advocates.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be interested in saving lives through organ donation advocacy.
Laurie Smith Memorial Scholarship
Sponsored by Second Chance Fundraising
We are awarding one $1000 scholarship to a student who is a transplant recipient, in honor of Laurie Smith, the mother of a heart transplant recipient.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a transplant recipient.
