Activate Students to Advocate for Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation
Struggling to connect with students? Only work with schools in your area once or twice per year? Feeling alone and need new partners?

You're in luck–SODA's National Team partners with donation organizations to support and inspire student advocacy on high school, college, and graduate school campuses across the country. SODA serves as the “student expert,” OPOs serve as the “organ donation expert," and eye banks serve as the "eye donation expert."
SODA provides free support to our partners to achieve their student engagement goals. In doing so, SODA removes barriers to student organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy.
Opportunities for Students
SODA offers two paths for student organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy.
Option 1:
Host an Event
SODA provides grants and resources so students with a few free hours here and there can advocate for organ, eye, and tissue donation and register their peers as donors.
Option 2:
Start a Chapter
Best for students who want to advocate for organ, eye, and tissue donation a few hours each week, starting a SODA chapter is a great way to create a legacy on campus with the help of SODA's event funding and resources.
How Do SODA, OPOs, and Eye Banks Work Together?
Our student leaders have two advisors: a member of the OPO's Community Outreach Team and a member of SODA's National Team. Eye banks compliment this partnership by providing eye donation advocacy advice.

Mentor students to host events and educate their peers about organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Share guides to lead a successful chapter on our Student Resources page.

Provide supplies and funding for education events and registration drives.

Strengthen volunteer programs by providing a structured and impactful way for students to get involved in your service area.
OPOs' Role
Organ Donation Expert

Train students about organ donation advocacy through their volunteer training program and provide them with OPO-branded supplies as needed.

Support students and check-in with them twice a semester.

Connect students with the local donation community.
Eye Banks' Role
Eye Donation Expert

Provide eye donation materials (like brochures and flyers) to educate leaders and share at events.

Build a relationship with chapters alongside OPOs.
