Jennifer Guzdek

Jennifer Guzdek is a Southeastern Wisconsin resident with an MBA in Finance and Accounting. Jennifer’s passion for organ donation began when she was a teenager. In 1996, while still in high school, she learned that her brother, Joe, was in end-stage renal failure and would need a kidney transplant. In 1997, Joe received his first kidney transplant and a second chance at life.

Jennifer never forgot the generosity of Joe’s donor and their family. She made a promise to honor their incredible gift by finding a way to give back. At the time, she didn’t know exactly what that would look like.

That promise began to take shape in 2002, when Jennifer and her family attended the U.S. Transplant Games as members of Team Wisconsin. There, Jennifer discovered the many organizations and advocates working to promote organ donation and transplantation. The experience introduced her to a community of advocates and inspired a lifelong commitment to promoting organ, tissue, and eye donation.

Jennifer and her family have now attended seven Transplant Games as members of Team Wisconsin. She volunteers with Versiti and supports donor families, transplant recipients, living donors, and others whose lives have been touched by donation. One of her most meaningful experiences was participating with Joe, her sister Sarah, and Sarah’s son in the annual “Wanna Have a Catch” Living Donor Awareness Softball Game at the Field of Dreams.

Jennifer is excited to volunteer with SODA and looks forward to supporting SODA students and chapters as they educate their communities and promote organ, tissue, and eye donation. She is honored to help empower the next generation of advocates.
