Gianna Crema

Gianna was first introduced to SODA in 2022 by the Smithtown SODA Chapter and has been committed to spreading awareness and educating her classmates and the community about the importance of organ donation and how those around her can help with the cause.

She was first a part of the Smithtown High School West Chapter of SODA, but she then brought this knowledge to college, where she founded the University of Virginia SODA Chapter in 2024 and has been a member of its executive board since then. Gianna joined the SODA National Team this year as the Reel and TikTok Intern to expand SODA's presence on social media and advocate for and disseminate as much information about SODA and organ donation as possible.

Outside of SODA, Gianna is passionate about medicine, cardiovascular research, public health, and philanthropy work. She is a member of the student council, serves as a program director for UVA hospital volunteering, is a member of the executive board for UVA's Chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, conducts research on vascular dementia using atherosclerotic mouse models, is the social director for her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and acts as a peer teacher for introductory biology. In her free time, she enjoys going on long walks with friends, trying new coffee spots, and binge-watching TV shows.
