SODA National's Leaders
Since founding SODA in 2014, Sara has been passionate about activating passionate students to advocate for organ donation. She manages SODA National, oversees SODA’s partnerships with OPOs, and ensures SODA’s work aligns with its vision and mission. Sara studied Healthcare Management and Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. Since graduating in 2017, Sara has been working as a Process Improvement Analyst at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. You can reach Sara at email@example.com.
Terrence has had a vision for SODA being on every campus across the country since the beginning of his involvement with the organization. He joined SODA National in Fall 2017 and he currently leads SODA's effort to become a nonprofit while advising and supporting SODA chapters as they work toward their goals. Terrence studied Neuroscience at Washington University with minors in Healthcare Management and Spanish. He graduated from Washington University in 2019. Shari joined SODA in the Fall of 2018 as an editorial consultant. She has had many years of experience in the corporate, government, and academic fields applying her writing and editing skills. She helps SODA submit grant applications, develop and improve materials for chapters and OPOs, and create spotlights for SODA's passionate leaders. She also supports SODA's strategic priorities, leveraging her past experience in fundraising and media. Vaibhavi joined the SODA National Leadership Team in Spring of 2019 as a Student Outreach Coordinator. Vaibhavi's journey with SODA began when she became the president of SODA's chapter at Marquette. Being a member of SODA at Marquette was such an enriching and positive experience for Vaibhavi that leaving SODA behind after graduation just seemed wrong, so when she had the opportunity to join the SODA National Leadership Team, Vaibhavi immediately applied and looks forward to working with Organ Procurement Organizations and SODA's chapters. In addition to her work with SODA, Vaibhavi works full time and will begin graduate school for her masters degree in Fall of 2019. Andrew joined SODA National in the Summer of 2019 as a Student Outreach Coordinator. His involvement as a Community Ambassador for his local OPO led him to create a SODA chapter at his university, The University of Nevada, Reno, where he graduated with a degree in Molecular Microbiolgy and Immunology in 2019. Andrew has been working as an in-home caregiver and volunteering in his community to support organ and tissue donation. You can reach Andrew at email@example.com
Zeinab joined SODA in 2019 with a new chapter at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She has passion for increasing awareness in organ donation and hopes to solve all the false believes around organ donation. She is studying Pharmacy and will be graduating in May 2020. Allen joined SODA National in the Spring of 2020 as a Finance and Strategy Intern. He is a junior at the University of Virginia majoring in Finance and Accounting. As the Finance and Strategy Intern, he maintains and improves SODA’s current budget, creates assumptions to develop SODA’s budget projections, and assists the team with fundraising campaigns. Charles joined SODA National in the Fall of 2019 as a Finance and Strategy Intern. He is currently a freshman at DePaul University majoring in Finance. As the Finance and Strategy intern, he maintains and improves SODA’s current budget, creates assumptions to develop SODA’s budget projections for the next three years, and assists the team with the development materials for the fundraising campaign. One of SODA’s original founders, Shana is currently a third-year medical student pursuing an MD, an MPH in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences, and an MS in Anatomy at the Tulane University Schools of Medicine and Public Health & Tropical Medicine. In addition to her studies, Shana also conducts research, including roles as a Research Assistant for Trauma Surgery and Research Executive Director for the Medical Student Pride Alliance. She supports SODA as its Student Engagement and Social Media Advisor.
Dan is currently the Assistant Director of Regional Development – Annual Giving at Milwaukee’s Marquette University. Prior to that, Dan served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin. In these roles, Dan has developed skill sets in corporate and foundation fundraising and 1-to-1 fundraising with alumni to obtain resources in support of each organization's mission. Dan graduated from Marquette University in 2011 with a degree in Marketing. Dan currently contributes his expertise to SODA as Fundraising Advisor.
Susan is a career volunteer who currently holds leadership positions at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Foundation, and HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters). As a donor mother, she raises funds in honor of her daughter Laura for a resiliency project at The Wisconsin Donor Network (part of the Versiti Network) and for brain cancer research. Susan is the author of the book, ‘Permission to Thrive: My Journey from Grief to Growth,’ a memoir about grief, post-traumatic growth, and organ donation. Susan received an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan. Susan currently serves as SODA’s Partnerships and Community Engagement Advisor.
Ron serves as the President and Managing Director at the Milwaukee-based investment banking firm Cleary Gull. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Versiti (Blood Center of Wisconsin). As a donor father, he leads the Laura Miller Memorial team in an annual memorial walk to raise funds for brain cancer research and organ donation awareness. Ron earned a Masters in Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BA in History from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves as SODA’s Finance Advisor.
